2021 In Review…

2021 was a BIG year, but ignoring what happened on a global scale, we wanted to review what happened in our little East Grinstead Clinic during the last year.

We Remained Open
In January 2021, our phone lines were busier than we had ever seen them as all our lovely patients were calling to check that we were still open, after the Prime Minister called another lockdown in England. Fortunately, we were able to remain open as our clinic falls under the Healthcare banner and we continued to treat our patients feet, and give some of our patients the only human contact they’d had in a while! As is always the way with Covid, we had lots of people calling to move appointments, or book in last minute - never a dull moment!

And we weren’t just busy during the Lockdown!

A Year of Waitlists…
Where in previous years we had two treatment rooms operational, social distancing meant that we had to use our second treatment room as a waiting area in order to keep all visitors to the clinic separate. We also made all our appointments at least 30 minutes long to allow time to clean the treatment room and reception areas in between clients. This meant that once the country opened up again, and people felt more comfortable leaving the house, our books were constantly full! We had a waitlist several pages long and were taking bookings several weeks in advance! It felt like the whole world wanted an appointment at the same time, so it was a very busy time for our Receptionists on the phones, and a busy time for our Clinical staff, trying to get everyone in and out safely, in line with social distancing rules of the time. Fortunately as the year went on, we were able to bring our Verruca appointment length back down to 15 minutes, which allowed us to fit more patients in, and meant less time in between verruca reviews!

The Foot Lady at the Donkey Derby!
The Foot Lady is usually involved in the Lions Donkey Derby, this has previously been by gifting a voucher to be won, however this year we decided to take it a step further and had a stall at the derby!

It was a cold and rainy day, there was even thunder and lightning! But that didn’t stop Jacquie and Patricia from enjoying the day! We had balloons to give out, a tombola with Foot Care prizes, and we even debuted our new range of Tea-Towels!

Yes, that’s correct, The Foot Lady Tea Towels! And if you are interested in purchasing one of our lovely “Fruit of the Loom” tea towels, please enquire at Reception!

Price Increase
In June 2021, we unfortunately had to raise our prices as the costs in the industry rose. We always try to keep our prices as low as we can in order to provide the best value for our patients, but bills unfortunately have to be paid, and so do our amazing staff! So while we would rather our treatments be at the lowest cost to our patients, we decided to prioritise being able to continue to provide that service, by increasing the cost of all treatments by £2.

Fortunately, all of our clients were very lovely and understanding, and we had minimal complaints about the increase! Thank you to everyone for sticking with us!

New Team Member
In October of 2021, Emily our Wednesday evening and Saturday Receptionist decided to step back from Reception duties to focus on behind the scenes website administration, which meant we were able to recruit a new member of our friendly team! Holly started work at the Foot Lady in October and has fitted in nicely! We’re so grateful to Holly for joining us!

New Look Website
In November we launched our new look Website! This was many weeks in the making and includes new features such as our News page, General Advice for between appointments, and we have so much more on the way! Let us know it there is something you would like to see on our website by filling out the Form on out “Contact Us” page! We have also revived our old Twitter page and refreshed our Facebook, and we’ve joined Instagram! So you can follow the Foot Lady’s journey through 2022 on all of your various platforms!
